Hi, my 2000 explorer rpm goes up and down and eventually dies! After I restarted it I noticed the hose from the throttle body down to the the elbows under the battery was sucked flat, Hose feels like it came apart inside and leaves you fingers coal black! Also, I put a vacuum gauge on the egr valve and get no reading now! It also seems to take a long time to idle down after I rev it up!
What ya think?

Dunno what engine you have, but if it's a 4.0 ohv that line should be rigid plastic. IMO replace with generic rubber vacuum line, and check to make sure your battery isn't leaking/dripping onto the hose.

If the hose (any rubber hose) turns your fingers black as coal and collapses when vacuum is applied, the hose is completely rotten and needs to be replaced.
