I am in the middle of replacing my valve cover gasket and I am suppose to disconect the electrical connection at the fuel injectors but am having a hard time figuring out how to get them off. Do I have to remove the fuel rail to get acess to the connectuons? The wires and the fuel rail are just blocking the clips I guess.

I just did the same repair. I could not find a clip holding them in so finally just used some very long needle nose pliers to grab the front and back of the cone ecotour and gave it a yank. Seems the right approach. It worked on the other side as we'll. be careful not to grab the wires or pinch too hard.

If you do the other side, watch for those spark plug wires. They like to get under the valve cover without you knowing. I torqued mine down and cracked the valve cover. JB welded it and it seems to be holding.

Good luck

Alright I am going to try and use some needle nose pliers and see if that works, thanks

Still cannot get the clips off so I skipped the step and was going to disconect a few things to help me get to the clips but I cannot get my fuel line disconnected just like I could not get the fuel line at my filter off. I am using the plastic tool and having no luck any one have a tip?

i wonder if a special tool is really required and i just got lucky. I have no idea what a "cone ecotour" is. I think i meant something "connector". i used very large needle nose, probably 10 or 12 inches. i suspect any other pliers that will let you get a grip will work. Just have to be careful not to break the plastic.

i worked on a 98 pathfinder and every plactic clip crubled as i tried to separate them. very annoying.

theres is a special tool for the fuel line on the driver side toward the front what i did was if you follow down there is a brace holding the fuel line in unbolt it from the block and pull the valve cover around it.. it will give you enough slack
