Vanity mirror installation question.

My wife has a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT and the spring latch onn the driver's side vanity mirror broke again. It was replaced twice under warranty but this time I have to do it myself.

Wanted to pick one up in a junk yard but can not figure out how the mirror is attached to the visor. How is it removed or is the visor and mirror all one piece?

Appreciate advice.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 2002-2005 section. Your profile says 2006, but the vehicle is a 2005?

If its an '05 might be similar to our '04 maybe for an '06 too?

i believe that you have to remove the whole visor. Looks like the cover just snaps off, revealing a couple of screws remove, unplug. Reverse for install.
