First I would like to thank all the members for a great site. I have a 5R55E in a 1998 ford ranger. With no reverse, I learned alot from past threads. I have found a blown out gasket. I hope I fixed the problem. BUT NOW I need the torque spec and sequance to reinstalt the vale body. I beleive I have seen it in here but now can,t find it. ANY help would be great. Thanks again to all, Dave:us:

PS also seporator plate torques

Lt. Jim, Thanks for the fast response. I am lucky to find this form. Dave

Welcome to this forum! Jim, the link didn't work when I clicked onto it. Here's a diagram from Glacier991's photo gallery with both pieces of information on the same page:

Get a cheap torque wrench from Harbor Freight or Northern, etc. Just lightly snug the bolts in first, after starting all of them. Snug them slightly tighter with a very small ratchet(1/4"), then use the torque wrench. It should take several passes around all bolts to get them to specs. Good luck,

I think it does not work because it is a link to a search entry. I did a "search this forum" under trans/transfercase section on vb torque specs.

You found what you needed, am moving this to the tranny forum.
