I have a 91 XLT with 244k that I keep tuned, and sometimes when I come to a complete stop or a slow roll, when I start to give it the gas it wants to die or stall. It seems like it floods out, and sometimes I smell gas. I try to start it, it will start for a second and do the same thing. I finally run the battery down trying to start it, and after several attempts (30 minutes) it will start and I have to get going and put it in neutral and have to keep it at about 3 grand. After I am moving it slowly picks up speed, and I have no problem until I come to a stop light, and repeat the whole episode again. I'm not really sure what's going on. It will run for weeks and start and stop just fine, but it just started doing this again. Can anyone give me an idea of what's going on? Sorry to be so winded. Thanks and have a blessed day. Michael

if you smell gas it is probably the Fuel Pressure Regulator going/ gone out...its under $30 and accessible near the rear of the intake manifold
