I first wrote this thread in 2008.. the Explorer has held up really well.
But sad news today...she's come to the end.

A brake line broke on Monday, when they got her on the lift, realized the rear springs/rear end was hanging by a thread...chassis is soft, ready to fall apart.

Mechanically, the motor and and trans are great, but the body and chassis are worn out

Its basically a plow vehicle anyway, so he's on the hunt for a similar generation Explorer to transfer the plow over to, and he'll likely strip this one of useful parts.
 






Bummer- that thing looked awesome!
