Greeting fellow Ford guys (and gals).

I drive a Cobra in the Summer but just picked up an 01 Explorer Sport for the winter. I have a vibration at 65-75. Hard to tell if it's front or back. I'm assuming the first thought is ply separation. Tires are good but really rough riding (and noisy). Goodyear Wrangler RT/S.
Planning to change to Firestone Destinations L2.
Any thoughts on possible vibrations issues?

You may want to check the u-joint in the axles and drive shaft. Also check the steering components to see if anything is worn, like the sway bar end link stabilizers and also the tie rod ends.

Hope this helps you out,

Tony

Ball joints were a little loose. Replaced the Goodyear RT/S tires with Firestone Destination L2. PROBLEM SOLVED. Ride is much smoother and quieter.
