Hi guys,
Been a very long time since I have posted up. I have done a bit of searching recently(as I am still looking for a "new" 4.0l) to put in my 98' Eddie Bauer, and I could not find a thread that lists the differences between a VIN E 4.0L and the VIN K 4.0l...Besides the intake and the VIN K being a flex fuel motor, are there really any differences(such as internals, higher compression, etc.?
Also, expanding on the VIN K motor being flex fuel, what are the differences between it and the VIN E being a regular gasser? Larger injectors, different computer, things of that nature? Can a VIN K be converted into a VIN E if the fuel system from the VIN E is added to a VIN K along with the intake? Or are there extra sensors/etc that need to be removed/replaced with VIN E parts as well?
Sorry about that mess of questions, just trying to find a solution for this Explorer besides crushing it. THANKS!
