VIN Number Assigned

Once a VIN number has been assigned for my 2013 Ford Explorer Sport, how soon (or not so soon) can I expect it to be built then delivered to the dealer? Thanks.

I am in the same boat as you I have had my vin for 3 weeks the best thing I can recommend is
1 contact your sales person they usually can see approx. delivery week to dealer and other basic information
2 send PM to crystal on this forum they can check on build date,when window sticker is ready usually when window sticker comes out build is within that week I understand
3 Shipping to dealer it's your guess most units are shipped via rail to a hub then trucked to dealer
4 Find something to take up your time like a hobby for 6 weeks
I'm still waiting for window sticker to show

The VIN is the first step and the Ford reps can sometimes get a build date for you from that as should your dealer. The 'Window Sticker' usually is available for lookup 4 to 5 days before the actual build. The sticker has the build date on it in the lower right corner. From the build it goes out to the lot to await shipment and depending upon where you live will be shipped by transport or rail. The usual line from the dealer is 8 to 10 weeks from the time it is ordered but some 2013's have been arriving in as short as 4-5 weeks.
The problem at this time of year is that the factory shuts down for 2 weeks for the holidays.
I ordered my 2011 just before Christmas 2010 and it arrived at the dealer March 11th, 2011.

If yours is not scheduled to a week as of right now, it will not be built this year. Anything that is built this year (by Dec 21) WILL be shipped before the New Year as it's the end of the quarter. PM me your vin and I'll look it up to see it's status.
