'91 ranger
i have a '91 ranger 3.0 v6. Idols fine. just had the tires balanced and rotated. After about ten miles of driving i get a fairly violent vibration. it starts off kinda unnoticeablly and progressively gets stronger and stronger. After i have been on the high way for a few and then come to a stop the entire truck shakes harder and harder until i completely stop. any ideas of how to fix it? or where to even start looking?

Have your driveshaft balanced. Sometimes after a lot of years they throw a weight.

check the ball joints and bearings as well.
Ball joints: Jack tire up, put hands under it & see if you feel a clunk while lifting.
Bearings: Jack tire up, put hands at 3 & 9, push in & pull out. Tire should not move

I think

It could also be the universal joints. That happened to my old Toyota.
