97 xlt sohc v6 had engine transplant with 2002 sport from wrecking yard. kept 97 intake manifold and brain. works fine. rebuilt tranny, turns out previous recondition from dealer was 98 and they did some drilling and altering of transfer case but mechanic got together. NOW, engine "skips" at cruising speeds for less than one second. no engine light. no engine code. deeper interrogation shows tranny code vss. could bad sensor cause the skipping?
