Zack,

To be honest with you the plain look of the hood looks Great as is.
Boy that Unit is a Beauty!

I can't wait till mine gets here, but it will be white, after all it has been a long wait since June 8th.

Yea, I think I am going to have my dealership de-badge my Sport.
Including the hood lettering.

I am thinking about it .... thats for sure. Worst case is the new ones they put on will come off easily enough if I dont want them after.

Zack - any chance you can take it to the track so we can get some real world performance numbers?

The track in my area is closed for the year after this weekend I think, so I would have to travel across the border into the Detroit area. I wont be able to do that anytime soon. I may get time in a couple of weeks to take it to Livernous Motorsports to get it tuned and put it on the Dyno for some to the ground horsepower numbers.

Ok Guys and Ladies:
Here is the scoop from NC.
I have actually laid eyes and sat in a New Explorer Sport, (Black, on Black).
The following is only my Opinion. Let me state up front I declined to do a test drive in it due to the temptation to make a purchase. (I ordered mine June 8th, it was allocated for production through the Atlanta office this past week, so I have been told).
The electronics in the Unit is outstanding and very user friendly, basically you can control the entire Unit from the steering wheel. (Voice & Hands on) Ford defiantly did their homework up front with the applications and layout, the wife and I were impressed. Example: rear power lift door, with the door fully open it is somewhat close to being 6.5 feet from the open/close button to the ground,( I'm 6 foot tall no problem) the wife is 5 foot tall it is an issue, you can open the rear door and hold the open/close button while holding the door at a desired height, you will hear a beep and the Max height will be set, 5.5 feet if you wish.
As for the engine running it has No Sound it is very quiet, I stepped down on it to hear the Twins Spool, Nothing it was still quiet, No Rumble, No Nothing. The sales person did say it was wicked and very strong when the rubber hit the road, he implicated the ride was a touch harsher than the other models which is expected.
The unit was six passenger, the second row seats appeared small but they sat very well to me, as for third row maybe you should be short & small in stature. The unit was equipped with 402A, moon roof, tow, mats, 2nd row bucket etc...
NOTE: I did have one Negative about the unit, when getting into the driver and passenger seat area you must step up and into the Unit, when getting out you must step out of the Unit not just slide your feet out. There is like a 4 inch drop from where the Explorer Lighted entrance plate to the bottom of the foot plate. (Excuse my description but you will know what I mean when you actually sit in one).
Go to the web site to look if you wish there is a lot of Pics: www.huntersvilleford.com
This is only my Opinion,
Terry #0608

Finally got home last night from being away for work. Got to drive the Sport for a good while today.
Just thought I would post one last pic in this thread with the new letters now corrected and centered in the hood.

Looks great... I picked mine up a half hour ago (Silver/Charcoal)... I'll post pics on a new thread tomorrow!

Major Question?

Has anyone taken delivery on a New Sport with the Summer Tire Option on it 265/45/ZR20?
I understand this is the holdup with the production of my unit.

Terry

Congrats 13Sport...Can't wait for the pics and additonal commentary.....

Yeah, MySync is active as of this morning!!!

Great looking Sport zackcrazy!

Do the Sports come with auto folding 3rd row seats? My dealer told me that mine would have them, but I don't seem to see it on the ford site. I also read online a few places that they only came with the manual fold seats. Can you clear this up for me?

The third row in the Sport trim is not power fold, it's manual

Thanks for the feedback.
The salesman at me dealer told me it would include the power third row seats but I guess he had no clue what he was talking about since the dealer has not received any Sports yet.

Did I miss the high res photos you hinted at, 13Sport? :D

Terry,

Aren’t you glad yours scheduled and has a VIN?

Yeah, MySync is active as of this morning!!!
A quick check to your order and I see it’s still moving right along, cputman!

Mdanielswv18,

I see this was already answered (thanks, 13Sport!). Here’s what the 2013MY Explorer Order Guide lists for “Interior Description” on the Sport:

“Leather-Trimmed, buckets w/heat, 10-way power driver (incl. power lumbar & recline), 6-way Passenger with manual recline / lumbar 60/40 2nd Row Fold-Flat Bench Seat, 50/50 Split-fold 3rd Row Seat”

I love seeing all the support from this community, guys; you all rock!

BTW, for those who haven’t: Shoot me a PM with your order info (VIN and/or order number + dealer name/state) and I’ll look up your latest status. :)

Cory

Got some awsome news today!!!!! We have a VIN number and production should begin around the last week of November.
