I know it is not the correct way to fix this problem, but will warrior shackles make the rear end stiffer?

My factory monoleafs with 165k mi on them are about done.

I weighed the options of installing new or used 4 leaf rears but since I am selling this truck early next year I do not want to invest a lot of money or time that I don't have right now.

I am looking for the easiest solution to fix the sag and loose rear suspention problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

..i would suggest getting some add a leafs from summitracing.com...install can be done it a couple hours with basic tools...it will lift your rear probably a good 1 1/2" which will get you about to stock height, and they ride a little stiffer...but compared to sagging springs and not being able to load anything in the back with your current springs, you will be happy...
...the cost of the aal's is about 37 bucks and i would suggest getting new leaf bushings at about 13 bucks also, and with shipping on both is cheaper than the shackles...this should resolve a lot of rear suspension problems and give you some load capacity in the rear...
...you might also want to wait as i am sure you will get more people giving some more suggestions...good luck...:D

..doh, how did i miss that...i had to go back and re-read,lol...i am sorry for the bad info i put here for your vehicle...
...either newer leafs from a junk yard or shackles would be my guess, again, sorry..

lol cyber, you know where i'm coming from...i swear it didn't say monoleaf when i first read it...:D

4-door leafs from a junkyard would be the "cheapest" way to stiffen up the rear end and get a little height back.

I knew it I'm Screwed, thought I could get out of this the easy way but now it looks as if I will have to replace the rear leafs.

Thanks

...used 4 dr. leafs are cheap....you might look up kbabiak, he is a vendor here with used parts in pa...or look in the for sale threads as several x's up your way are being parted out...;)

The leaf swap wouldn't be too hard- just do one side at a time. Since its SUA, its easy to support the axle and swap the spring. Depending on rust, you may need new U bolts. Its also a good chance to paint and clean up the rear axle.

I put Monroe Load Adjusting shocks on my 97 sport.Got about a 2" rise.

I like the shock idea, thanks.

I got prices from junkyards of $55 shipped per leaf from a 2000 4 door X.

Supposedly 60k mi on them.

I have a set of 94 4door. I dont know if thay will fit. 50 bucks if thay do.

A little off topic, but where is the best (meaning cheapest) place to buy warrior shackles from these days?

sdaviddr - where did you get your shocks? How much $ and part numbers would be great! Thanks!!!

...check 4wheelparts...i believe they are 63 bucks...

there are lots of places to get them from... i got mine from the local 4 wheel parts -- they are evil... and don't know jack about trucks, but they run sales... and can order anything with a part number

Try getting them reset (leaf's), its a lot cheaper & you could get them raised just a tad.:D

Speaking of them shackles, i want to put shackles to raise mine a bit. My a$$ doesnt have any sag at all. mountaineergreen said that it'll make it (the rear suspension) a little bit softer and i'm all go for that :D i just like that lifted and capable look for now without sacrificing ride comfort.

i've read the sticky about what size of tire you can use in relation to the amount of lift installed or done to the X but do you guys think i can fit 32"s with a shackle lift and around 2.5" TTs and have no mechanical problems?
