My 96 EB has a 4.10 open rear according to the door sticker. Someone told me all EBs had that trac-lok rears standard. Did that happen in later years?

My 2000 has a 4.10 open as well, so maybe after mine, but I don't think it was standard in any EB. Maybe the limited?

No. The Trac-Lok was not standard in ANY of the Explorers. The 4.10 was, however, standard on the Eddie Bauer 4x4s, as well as the sport 4x4s with the 4.0 SOHC motors.

wiat-if EB's came standard with 4.10's, how come I don't have them?

Being that the question was posted in the second-gen forum about a 96 model year, I assumed we were talking about the original poster's vehicle. However, I guess I should have been more specific to prevent any confusion.

As far as I know, the second-gen Eddie Bauer 4x4s with the SOHC motor came standard with the 4.10 gears. I'd have to double-check the brochure at home, but I believe the 2wd Eddie Bauers may not have come with the 4.10 standard. Don't quote me on that one though...
