Today, after been catching a driver floor noise, remove the carpet and I found humidity under there, and under the pedal protection rubber.

During the last rain here (intenses by the way), the explorer don't move, because the wind wiper motor was bad, so I guess that the water come from up.

The passenger site is ok

Any clue?

Have you crawled underneath the driver side and looked for any corrosion or spots where water could get ingress? Other than that, perhaps there is a hole on the firewall and water is leaking down from the hood valance.

If you have a sun roof the drain tube may be clogged and water can back up and run inside.

The '00 Mountaineer my younger daughter drives has the same issue (no sun roof). I even put newspaper down on the driver's side floor and under the dash (during a heavy rain) to see wear it was coming from. Still have no clue.

Check the firewall, most likely besides a sunroof, something is letting water in up front.

It took me 4 weekends to fix this on a 98 ex. You need to pull the wipers and covers. There is a frame member that water can flow around. There is also a bead of weld there.

On the inside I ended up pulling the carpet and the silencing material above about where the brake pedal is. There is a hole in the firewall almost directly above the brake pedal.

Isolate your leak be pouring water and looking underneath in the cabin. You will chase it a long time unless you pull out the carpet, the silencing material and finally I expect you will find a hole. I cleaned up the hole and painted it.

On the top side in the gutter cowl I just used some rtv and worked at it.

It was a pain but not nearly as much as the water pouring in during rain

You can fix it. It's not scrap - Made in Louisville ky by american workers.

A few weeks ago, I pulled out the wipers and covers. I used black bodywork sealant in all visible joints down there.
I cleaned the windshield borders and with a syringe put sealant there

The sealant slip for all water drain, even some droplet reach the ground just right the front tire.

I also drought the carpet.

After the last rains here, again, the carpet is wet. I can't say if it is more or less wet than the last time

I put a garden hose over the roof and wait. After a while, some droplets begin to fall by the silencing material around the steering column, over the brake pedal. I can't see where is the hole.

Again, applied sealant in the same last time areas, and around the steering column hole over the firewall

I can't figure out how take off the silencing material... Should I disassemble the overall things there?

I guarantee it's leaking on the backside of the frame member that is still in the cowl of the WW. In order to convince yourself you know where it is leaking you actual need to cut out the silencing material entirely out underneath the brake-pedal - I know its a pain but if you really want to see it stop leaking then that's what ya gotta do. You will need to unhook all the pedal assembly if you want to do it right. After you can see the leak coming through the firewall you can then pour and see that the back side of that frame member is where it's leaking. You then build up a damn of sealant covering up the gap - probably about 3/8" so water does not go around in and leak past the seal. You cannot get sealant directly on the seam. I had a significant hole in the firewall but that's not the root cause - the root cause is still in the cowl area. I think I just cleaned up the hole in the firewall and painted it as best I could. The hole is still there. I think I actually pulled the entire steering wheel to get at it. Send me a pic of your cowl assembly and I will point out where it's leaking. Believe me - its a hard leak to find. Mine hasn't leaked in FL for 2 years.

@floridacatfan what you exactly means with "frame member"? (sorry, the english is not my mother language)

Do you have a picture of the zone?
