I started having water leaking from the mini overhead console on my 2010 about 6 months ago. I ssumed that the moon roof system was the culprit. I finally pulled the headliner to see if I could fix the moon roof. Much to my surprise, the root cause was a leak at the attaching bolt of the satellite antenna. I pulled the antenna out and put silicone sealant on the gasket which will hopefully fix the issue.
I have a sunroof but never open it. If you use silicone, you may still have a small leak as water can still travel along the gasket since the gasket is not bonded to the glass or at least mine was not.
To fix, I bought a 36"x24" piece of xpel ultimate (paint protection film) and applied over the entire piece of glass with overlap across the gasket and onto the paint. It works perfect and is not noticeable unless you look close.
I did the TSB about 2 months ago on my 06. For 12 years, after a heavy rain and a car parked at a certain angle, I would have Niagara Falls out of my overhead lights. Since the fix, not a drop of water. Cost $0, about 2-3 hrs of work. You have to remove A,B,C pillars, drop the ceiling, drill new holes behind the passenger doors, and reroute the tubes.
