water stain on tinted windows

in all honesty, replacing a window is not that hard. and it doesn't have to be expensive if you don't want it to.

don't know if you have these where you're at, but at the local Pull-A-Part, where you pull the part youself, a window is 11.48 plus tax. i've replaced 2 windows on my Explorer so far, it's not difficult, you just have to be careful with it.

all else fails, i can pick you up the window, pack it nice, and ship it to you, lol.

I figured it to be expensive cuz I've had my windows replaced twice before and both times it set me back 100+ each time at a local shop. Given, this was way back when and also the windows were on my previous car, a 2 door acura integra, but I figured getting all the windows replaced would be pricey....
So is the pull a part place nationwide or located in only certain states...I've never heard of it in ca but that just might be me...I hope u werent kidding about the whole shipping it to me...I might just take u up on that offer lol...if all else fails that is...

No need to change your windows. Just clean them. And stay away from the Stove Magic I assume you used. :) Get some brake cleaner or straight ammonia. Ammonia is what makes Windex work, Except Windex is almost all water.

I've had good luck on house windows with products containing Hydrofluoric Acid. Be careful, it will etch the glass if there's scratches, and I wouldn't want to see what it'd do to paint/auto bodies.

Without the residue(remove with brake cleaner on a rag(don't spray it on)), use either a full alcohol/ammonia/ etc, a clay bar, or the extreme fine steel wool. The clay bar worked very well for over spray, which is very tough to remove. Avoid a razor blade, those have to be dead perfect(brand new) to not scratch.

Nail paint (acetone; don't know if its the right traslation) remover, that what i use on windows to remove anything, but be careful to keep it on the windows, cause it can dameg the paint.

2x on the acetone.. I use it on cleaning on all surfaces I apply vinyl to. Works great, leaves no residue and tries quickly without a film.

Thanks for all the great advice. I was able to get it off more or less. Appreciate all the help. lessson learned: don't neglect the windows when washing your ex. Enjoy the rest of summer to all.
