Spent some time this weekend stopping that door chime form continually ringing. I chose to cut the wire at the Chime and tone Generator. Silence for the doors, all other chimes still working!!

Also, fixed the Brake warning light, it wasn't coming on when the Parking Brake was set. Found the switch on the floorboard, sprayed electronic cleaner on it worked it by hand and it's working again!

What's next.....

you got a pic of the door chime wire?,i want to do this

No pics, however, I found the Chime Module in the dash after removing the Center section with the Radio. The Chime Module in my '98 is a black box against the left side of the opening. On the side of the unit facing the cabin were 3 wire connectors, I pulled each one until the chime stopped. Of course it was the top one which was the last one I pulled. Anyway per a wiring Diagram I found on the web, the wire was BK/PK, which I cut and taped each end. No more chime, door that is, all other chimes work.

Works like a charm, even my auto unlock on the drivers door, when using the key, now works; that maybe coincidence though!:thumbsup:
