So a while back, I replaced the front driver side wheel bearing on Snowball. I think the ABS sensor had been removed then reinstalled, as there was some RTV around it. The hub was newer when I pulled it at the junkyard.

Fine for 3 months.

Now, when coming up to a light (even when dry) my ABS will engage from like 5 mph to zero. Sometimes when traveling straight, mostly when coming to a corner when turning right, so the wheel is turned.

Could this be something awry with the sensor if it had been removed/cracked somehow? ABS functions fine otherwise, and there are no codes.

TIA!

I had a issue similar to this but it was on my Camaro SS. Same symptoms though. Just before stopping my abs would engage making a weird noise along with a weird feeling in the petal. It was my sensor being dirty. I was able to clean it and it lasted for a few months then came back to I just replaced the hub (sensor was fused into the hub) and all was well. Hope this might help you a bit.

Sounds the same- probably the sensor is getting wet/dirty. I have a spare assembly with non-removed ABS sensor I'll toss on and see if it stops.

The weird noise and pedal feeling is your ABS...

Thanks for the answer... :)

No problem glad I could help for once!!
