So about 3 weeks ago my tranny went in my '96 exploder XLT so i got a rebuildt one (F68Z-7VOO-EBRM) from ford motorcraft put in it w/ a 3 year warrenty. I noticed however that after it was installed, i heard a very faint squeaking noise coming from under my truck only when i would accellerate or slow down, but didnt really think much of it. But then as of yesterday though, this little squeaking noise turned into a loud clanking noise that increases in frequencey as speed increases, yet decreases in sound as speed increases. Once i get above 30 mph or so it goes away. The faster i accellerate, the louder it is until i gain more speed, and the same noise occurs in reverse. My dad and I were thinking it could a bearing in the tranny or the transfer case but we're not sure... ive looked underneath and nothing seems to be out of place so if you guys have any ideas, it would be a huge help!!
