The other day I was on the highway and in a rolling roadblock so I had to punch it and speed past a couple people. Well the check engine light came on and now whenever I'm driving and I get past 2000 rpm it sounds like I have an air leak. Like swoosh scree sound.I checked the air lines but maybe I missed one that I dont know about? It only happens when I press the gas at 2000rpm and when the car is rolling.

The check engine light comes on now but only very seldom and it doesnt stay on for more than a few seconds, but It's still irking me. I dont want to break down if I can avoid it.
Ive tried to get it to do it in park and just pressing the gas pedal but it's fine then. Does anyone know what it may be ? Everything seems to be performing as usual but the sound and intermittent check engine light are telling me otherwise. Everything has been fine with engine and tranny in the past.

You need to get the fault codes for that CEL.

Any auto parts store can read the computer codes for you.

If you post the codes here it may help to narrow it down.

How do the code readers work? Does the check engine light have to be currently on or do they read the last CEL that was displayed?

If the CEL flashes, it will have a fault stored in memory.

The reader will read all stored codes.

The CEL doesn't have to be on steady to register a fault.

It's sounds like a vacuum leak, but the CEL light coming on momentarily; tells me the problem is with the EGR system.

The codes will tell for sure.
