Transmission has a high whine at 2000 - 2300 rpm..and comes and goes...Any thoughts I heard usually whines are caused by bearings how much would it cost to fix this?

Usually, replacing a bearing requires pulling the trans and rebuilding. Check your ujoints to make sure the needle bearings ni the caps arent dry and have disintegrated. Is the truck 4x4?

yes sir 4x4 and ill check my u joints tomorrow

Are you sure its the tranny and not the diffy or even the t-case?

well if it were to be the diff...then the whine would be persistent through out driving even coasting correct? I don't know about the t-case though
