Well, I thought I have moved on from explorers when I sold my 95 Sport about a month ago. it had a bad flexplate keeping it from starting, but was otherwise sound. Sold it to a guy I know for his father-in-law, cause he needed a vehicle. I let them take it before getting paid... and you can guess where this is going. He started working on replacing the flexplate, but got stuck on the two upper transmission bolts, and he decided he didn't want it. So since i hadn't gotten paid yet, I sorta work with the guy, I worked out a deal where I took the truck back, and he is going to haul a couple vehicles for me. So he dropped the truck off and it is now back in the driveway.
I have since fixed the non-working gate, which was two new side latches and connecting one rod back in, and picked up a couple center caps, since the ones with the truck were stolen while it was gone. I also removed the console, split the carpet and removed the access plate in preparation for removing the trans. I still need to get the truck up on jack stands, but everything else is pretty much removed with the exception of the exhaust, so it should be simple. I am hoping to get it out this weekend, and possibly get a new (used) one in and things buttoned up. This is going to be a work truck, so I am ok with using a used flywheel on it. If it was my main form of transportation, I'd opt for a new redesigned one.
Well, lots of projects await. Anyone near the binghamton, NY area that would like to help out, feel free to PM me. You don't have to know what you are doing as long as you don't mind getting dirty and are semi competent, we can learn together.
