CUSTOM lowering springs or remove coils from stock. IIRC, limited to 1-1/2(?) inches lower because of the drive shaft going through frame.

Hopefully others that own lowered Gen 2 Tracs will chime in. GL

Yea I’m hoping someone will have parts list of pictures but thanks

There used to be a guy on the ST boards, he lowered his with custom made springs and used F-150 front struts which I guess are a little shorter. As mentioned, you can only go so low because of the rear halfshafts going through the frame.

Is
Is this what you installed? I’ve seen this online but it’s the only company that makes them so it has me worried

no i havent, but i have emailed them a few times and am considering it. they even have an airbag upgrade that they can apply to those coilovers, kind of neat option.

Scale is a good company to deal with, each customer is a custom build, they will ask you what your going to expect from shock, In my case the truck is going to be drag/street with a 5.8 gt500 engine North of 800 hp. Very nice choice like we have any.

awesome thanks for sharing those pics! only reason i am hesitant on the scale setup is i'm not sure of the impact to towing capacity. any thoughts there? do you think the rear spring rate is high enough to still be able to tow a little bit, maybe a pwc or small trailer?

another option is from X2, air:

2007-2010 Ford Explorer, Sport Trac, Mountaineer Front Air Suspension Kit, Strut Kit (no fittings)

2007-2010 Ford Explorer, Mountaineer Rear Air Suspension, Strut Kit (no fittings)

The OP says "Scale" ask the customer for use case for the suspension and then custom build the suspension - you get what you ask for only :)
So towing needs to be in your use case, spec out towing as one of your requirements.

What size wheel/tire combo is that? Also, did you lose or gain sidewall clearance with the Scale setup?

Did you install the Scale coilovers yourself or have it done in a shop? If shop, what was the approximate cost? Did they have to do a realignment? Thanks.

The fronts are 265 50 20s the rears are 295 45 20 , the front wheels are 20 9 rears are 20 10 tire diameter is the same,

Did you do the install yourself, or a shop? If a shop, what was the cost and did you have to do an alignment? Thanks.

Yes I installed them, easy. I happen to own a shop with 2 and 4 post racks I like the 4 post with bridge jacks best, don’t even have to take the wheels off.
with a floor jack and the proper tools a bit more work.

Thanks for the reply. I will give it a go.

I have a few questions with hopes that you may be able to answer since you have actually done this work yourself. I have a 2010 Mountaineer V8 AWD and want to lower it, maybe going with 3" drop front/rear. I plan on doing all the work myself. How many inches did you actually lower it (front/back)? When you had Scale build the coilovers, did you account for towing/payload? Did you have to slot the mounting holes in the frame for the rear lower control arms to compensate for negative camber? I also noticed that the right rear wheel sticks out further than any other wheel on all 06-10 models. Did you compensate for that too or left it alone? Was there any alignment issues? I didn't see you post a picture of the rear coilovers mounted. Do you have any that you can post? I am sure by now you have put some miles on the new suspension, so do you have any clearance issues? Any additional information on this that I may have missed would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure I do this right the first time.

I installed Scale coilovers on my STA over the last 30 days. Install was straightforward. These coilovers are significantly lighter than the OEM coilovers. I am still adjusting the dampening. This is trial and error. I lowered about 2" and the truck looks great. I also added 1" spacers front and back. Overall, the truck rides a bit rougher than before, but that is the tradeoff.

Scale Suspension makes a kit for the 08-10’ Adrenalin for about $1300. It’s a sweet kit.
