I am looking at getting a used AWD car to use as a commuter to and from work (drive appox. 65 miles each way). I have done a little research on AWD cars, but really I am not all that familar with what is available. I have currently looked at the subaru outback and the volvo v70. What else is out there that won't break the bank and will get decent mileage (~30mpg or better). Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Toyota has the Matrix,my best friend has the all wheel drive version and its very sporty:D

Budget?

that figure is incorrect... the 300hp is for the subaru wrx STI

the regular wrx only has like 230 hp

the wrx sti is my favorite, personally that is the one i would go with, a coworker has the regular wrx sedan and its nice, he has an AEM shortram intake and a greddy exhuast, it doesnt sound like a broken muffler lie the hondas either... it purrs..... :)

also the lancer evo is a nice one too

if you arent into all the jazz and speed but want an all wheel drive comutter car, look into the regular subarus.. the stnadard impreza, or the outback.. my friend has an outback 4 dr wagon and its very plush and roomy on the inside

Well, the V70 isn't going to get 30 mpg AND it is recommended to use premium fuel. There is also the Eclipse GSX/Talon TSi AWD, and some Audi's. Really depends on the budget you are looking at.

There's also the R32 GTI coming soon. 250 hp, AWD, and more style and lux than the Subi ;) I think MSRP will start about 26-28.

How about a 4.2l V8 S4 Audi?:D
