My 94 has what I think is brake fluid leaking under the dash? Could that be?

It seems to be dripping on, then, around the steering column under the dash.
If it is brake fluid, and looking at the master cylinder, its can only be coming from the back of the master cylinder through the vacuum assist.
I think?

If so, could I be looking at having to replace both?
I don't know if the assist can be just drained if it has fluid in there

Any one have any thoughts or other ideas before I start tearing it down?
Thanks

Are you low on brake fluid?

Reason I ask is the 94 still has a mechanical cable from the transmision to the speedometer. Never had this problem so I haven't loked hard at it. I know many vehicles will leak there when the O ring seal on the cable goes bad. If a manual tranny it could be the clutch master.

It could be the master cylinder leaking into the booster. One question though, have you been having to top up the master cylinder quite frequently or is this just out of the blue.

I think I found it
My wife was recently in an accident where she hit the steering wheel.
I pulled the steering column housing and traced the leak from the around the directional signal switch.

I think its coming from the steering column flange assembly. My best guess the unit might have been jarred (? cracked housing ?) or the top seal gave out.
grrrrrrrr
I’ll have to add it to the list of other damages from the accident

I keep telling everyone

there is Turn Signal Fluid. You just proved it!

Did I get set up for that one!

Who started that ?
:D :D :D
