I helped a lady at the gas station today she had put one quart of tranny fluid in her engine. I took her to the parts store, we were going to drain her oil, and they told her not to worry about it she could go about 500 miles and then get an oil change and it will help flush stuff out.

Has anyone else heard of this?

I wouldn't go 500 miles, but the tranny fluid is harmless for the short term. It will just help to clean the engine out.

I've gone 250 miles with tranny

and that vehicle is still around. Basically just a 20 wt oil. Depends on the engine condition and type of driving. If it needs a quart, it probably has worn bearings and low oil pressure allready.
