Just changed my ATF with Valvoline Mercon V..
and, well, maybe it is me, but it seems like it shifts different.
On my way home from work today it did miss a shift that it never did, it reved before going into OD.
Couldn't reproduce it after that, maybe there was a air bubble from changing it the night before, checked the level and it was fine.

Should I be using another brand? It was the only brand in Mercon V that Advanced Auto had....

Thanks

I have Castrol Mercon V. I wouldn't worry too much about the missed shift if it only happened once.

Been browsing the web and it appears that not all manufacturers make Mercon V.

Mobil and Penzoil that I can tell do not have Mercon V

Pennzoil has a Mercon V, I'm running it in my Town Car right now.

i use valvoline

after changing the ATF it is really important to make sure the fluid level is where it should be. keep checking it until you are completely satisfyied that you have the right amount of fluid in it.

Like you said air can get into the system that will bleed itself out over time.

I have checked the fluid several times and tweaked the level....seems OK

Thanks!
