hello everyone, i just got a 1993 ford explorer the 17th and I need to know what I should do to it take make it sound nice (what kind of exhaust) and run nice, oh yeah and look good (what kind of lift kit) please send me pics of your vehicle so I can get an idea on what to make mine look like. BTW I am 16 and its a 2WD, but I still want to lift it and make it a powerhouse!!

Check out before and after...lots of good pictures and ideas there.

2WD options

SkyJacker makes a very inexpensive lift 2". I would go with other shocks, the ones that they send suck. Go with a K&N air filter and a computer chip. To top things off go with a Flow Master cat back exhaust. There are a lot of people who have posts about 2WD Explorers. Good luck

Mike

thanks for the suggestions guys! I will look into the flowmaster cat back, computer chip, and the lift. Do they make bigger ones besides just the 2" that I could get for it? thanks

whats up, im lookin to do the same stuff on the same truck, does anyone have any ballpark prices on the stuff suggested by Mike Moyer, and would you guys suggest it for a daily driver?

Hey check it out. As for my truck I will try to post a picture. What I tried to do was give my 2WD a 4x4 look and a little groung clearance. The only time I take my truck off road is to reach a trail head when I go mountain biking. As for the lift kit, yes they do make bigger ones. The James Duff kits are nice but you will pay the price. The same goes with FabTech. These guys build lifts that you can really abuse and they will take the punishment. The SkyJacker lifts I don't think will take the hard abuse as the other ones will. But then again this setup worked for me and my needs. As for price I think I paid about $300 for the springs, shocks, add-a-leaf VS $1000+ for the other lifts. The Exhaust ran about $200 (but had that installed). The chip I bought off E-bay from a guy for $150 plus some ****o movies he wanted. Hope this helps guys. Let me know.

Mike
