What did i Do, Cant shift into 4x4

Well, i took my 02 sport trac 4x4 out to the lake to do some off-roading with a 3in body lift just put on, only to get there, and not be able to shift into 4x4 high or 4x4 low!!!!! The dealership i bought it from i also got an extended warranty, but i have put the lift on, and they will prob charge my tons of money,.... damn dealerships.....


I just need some suggestions on howto do this myself...

First things first, read all the instructions in the manual?

My first guess is that the wire harness for the tcase isn't plugged in, very easy to forget after a BL. Check the wires going to the tcase.

I checked most all wires... they all looked good, i will unplug the tranfer case and blow it out, and make sure it is going all right... i am 99% sure everything is plugged back in...

Did you check your fuses?
Can you describe in a little more detail?
Are you hearing any sounds from the T-Case? Any clicking?

Ok, i have checked all connections, all seem fine, i have checked all Fuses, all seem fine (4x4 fuses that is)..

What else can i do???? I hear nothing.. I thought i solved it today, i told my neighbor to get in it and put the brake on and shift it into nuetral and switch to 4x4, then i tried something and heard a noise, AND I YELLED "I FIXED IT, THE LIGHT ON??" He said "NO, that noise was it shifting into drive!!"

COME ON GUYS

I have scheduled a dealership app. on Wed, so i need to try and get this fixed before then, so i dont have to donate a kidney to pay for it....

I have disconnected the battery for 30 min, did nothing

checked all connectors, look all fine

checked all 4WD Fuses, all look fine



This happened after 3in body lift and a XM radio Install..

between the time i have used it last, that is what has happened...


by the way, the question is what to do, i cant get the sport trac to go into 4WD High or Low, and No lights, No clicks

i don't think you need to worry about them not warrantying it. the lift didn't cause your 4x4 problem.. well not likely anyway
