Ok I just ordered 2 Audiobahn AW1000x that take 600w RMS each and I was goin to run them down to 1 ohm and use my JBL BP600.1 to put out 1200w RMS x1 channel. I currently have 4ga. wire ran about 15-20 feet to the the back of my truck where I am currently running my amp at 600w RMS x1 at 2 ohms. My question is if I can still use my 4 ga wire for 1200w RMS or what gauge wires should I get, what size fuse should I get, and how many/what size cap(s) should I get to save my alternator?

you still can you just won't get quite as much from the amp as you would with larger gauge cable.

you don't want to run a cap in the traditional sense- they just don't work and actually make your alt work harder

if your not planning on upgrading to more amps (maybe a 4 channel) i would do nothing. if your planning on upgrading more hit me up at "svt exploder" on aim and we'll talk about how to do it right. I can also answer any questions you have about how to fuse or what fuse sizes to use.

I am running 4 ga from my front battery to my rear battery, then from the rear battery to the amp. I also have a 130 amp alternator and I don't have any problems with lights dimming or power loss.
