What do I need to convert to 98 hood latch?

I'm trying to get a list of parts I'll need to convert to a 98 hood latch from a 97. Do I need to get the complete handle/cable/latch mechanism or just the latch itself? Any cutting required? Suggestions?
I'm trying to do this so I can get a billet grille in there. The plan is to get an 98 X grille from a junkyard and insert the billet grille into that. Just in case I don't like it and need to go back to stock.

Just the latch , all the cables are the same.
Do your self a favor and set the latch with the grille out , then put the grille in.
