what do you guys think about these headlights?

Happen to have pictures of the retrofit?

I have a few, but unfortunately photobucket doesn’t work anymore so I can’t post them. I’ll try to find a new way to post them.

Love mine. I threw in some LED headlights and theyre great!! They really are black, its just impossible to get a pic without a glare on them.

To add to the picture I posted. even though they yellow rather quickly, they do clean up easy. They're cheap so I'm not mad about them yellowing. When I have a chance or remember I'll take a picture of them cleaned up.

Looks good Dirty like it should be LOL

Still liking my Diamond clears I bought over 10 years ago. Not as clear as new, but still not like what they replaced.

I like them and hope you enjoy them! I am replacing an old set that is darker and have filmed-over putting-out poor light

I am trying to get more light so am going with clear lenses and all else is blacked-out but the reflectors.

Well I didn’t know that you could upload photos directly to the forum now, since the last time I tried, it required being an elite explorer. Well I uploaded some pics and hopefully you can see them.

I’ve got a set, not bad, mine are depo dot lights so they should last good, just make sure to wax them when you wax the ex

Which are the projectors?

I like those a lot. Where did you get those?

Would those be suitable for hid/led?

@239 would those be suitable for led/hid?

I got the kit for $320 from TheRetrofitSource. It included everything from the ballasts to the bulbs. I just opened up the headlights and installed the projectors.

Nice upgrade. May I know the total cost? I'm thinking of upgrading mine also.

The cost was $107 for the clear SPPC headlights on Amazon, $270 for the Morimoto Stage III kit on TRS, and $50 for the Halo rings.

This is the kit that I have, I just added halo rings in the options: Bi-Xenon: Morimoto Mini H1 Stage III

It would nice to see a headlamp be made with the following features

*Glass like OEM
*I'm not a big fan of projectors for this vehicle as their look really doesn't fit the face of this generation explorer. So I would go with maintaining the current non-clear look of the headlight but adding some kind of outline bar along the edges that is yellow colored like the oem bulbs. Maybe some other minor visual tweaks - more of an evolution of the current design.

Thinking along the lines of other vehicle models that have had extended production runs like the Mercedes G or original VW Bug and some Porches. These vehicle evolved their lights to keep current but still nicely match the old style face of the model.
