What do your systems hit at?

I entered a NJ\PA SPL competition the other day and had my system hit at 141. I probably could have gotten a little higher than that if I had thought of turning the gain up slightly and have lower that frequency a little. A few of the guys there were somewhat surprised that a SQ (Sound Quality) amp could hit that high. I would have entered the SQ competition too, but I did not have enough money. I was overall happy with what my two subs put out. Anyway, I was just wondering what your systems hit at and if anyone out there has won any awards in either SPL or SQ.

I really have no idea how do the find the Db do thy stick things on your windows how does the machine work???

At the contest they had a microphone on a suction cup that they put on the front window. When you were ready you turned up your system. It would read it for a few seconds and then a digital display showed you at what Db it hit at. If you ask around at some car audio places, you might be able to find someone that has a Db measuring device. Hope this helps.

At USAC sanctioned sound-offs, they take two measurements with the microphone. One at the port of the sub box, and one at the passenger's kick panel. The one at the port usually generates a higher number. Drew, nice choices in equipment, esp. the Alumapro subs. Those baby's are sweet!

There is a shop in my town that has an SPL contest every month and i have entered it twice. Both times i have placed with readings of 142.6 and 143.7. These shows aren't that small. There was a guy with an old Dodge Caravan and he had 16 12's and a wall of 9 amps. Everything was made by Crossfire. He hit 158, this thing shook like nothing I have ever seen before.

I got a 148.0 in the last competition that I took my 1992 Explorer to. The truck is featured on the main page under Brian Green and you can see a bit of the system. I could have got a better db. score if I wouldnt have messed w/ my eq right before I was up. I messed it up good and couldnt get it back to my settings.
