Dean:
Replace the unit (TB or MAF) that has the smallest internal diameter first.

I want to order a larger TB and MAF, but can only get one at a time. Does someone have a suggestion on what one should be first? I've already got the Borla cat-back holes in the air box and K&N air filter.

Explorer Express has a MAF that is I believe 73mm. I would buy that first but I am not you.......either would be fine to go with first since you are planning on buying both anyway.

Do not get either. Together they will only add about 5 hp. You will get better throttle response, but that is an expensive 5hp. Would be much more worth your while to get header. Makes a very noticable improvement.

Extreme4x4,

I am in the same situation concerning the MAF and the TB; I was wondering if you know this to be true of the SOHC, I didn't see what engine you were talking about.
I've heard that the catback doesn't give too much improvement, and that headers are the way to go. what other improvements are out there?

I was referring to the 4.0 OHV. I am not familiar with mods to the OHC motor, so I would not even attempt to answer on that one. Normally though, cat-back exhaust systems work pretty good. Good luck.

Hi Dean,
Gloria's right, if you don't already have headers, then That should be your next investment, because headers will give you the most bang for your buck. For the price of both the TB and MAF, you can get the headers. Dead Link Removed

Sprsvt,
I mentioned this in another post to Retrac. You have to look at the whole picture, you're not going to get instant success from only one mod. Not wishing to write it all again, see the post under "larger air flow sensor". Dead Link Removed
