What is a 2013 PIU worth with 70k miles. Has service records. Likely needs some work, AC not working prob compressor. Knowing it might need 1-2k work what would you guys say it’s worth paying for?

Max would be 5,000. Or less. AC could be anything, with only 70k you only have 30k until timing chain tensioner idler and water pump. Have you driven it yet? 13 had some tranny fun going on and if AWD definitely want to change transfer gear case oil. That's kinda of a *****.

so 7k is a no go? Have not driven. What would I look for?

70,000 is good just telling you that water pump will have to be done at 100,000 miles. Most tranny problem is shudder, change trans fluid and definitely change fluid in the ptu unit, as soon as possible. They are great CUV vehicle. Not a truck no frame.

I know but the vehicle is about to close for $7,000. Is that too high?

Welcome to the Forum.
A lot depends on how bad you want it and what you are willing to pay for it. It's your decision in the end.

Near Tampa, it could be worth $7K, except being PIU, hard to say if 70K miles is representative of wear or if it has a lot of idle hours too.

You really need to go inspect and drive it, and of course, compare to other similar vehicles in your area.

People are welcome to argue about pricing but I wouldn't sell my '14 for $15K, but it's like new, garage kept and 12K mi. Carmax would pay me $16.6K for it right now.

I was saying that 5,000 would be a good price. AC depending on worse case air box has to come out to replace ac coil.
