Greetings:

What is a really set of shocks to use for the rear and or front of my 93 explorer? I know that Bilstiens are excellent, but what other good shocks are there for these trucks? What does everyone else use?

I think I got the Monroe light truck shocks (they're black) on mine about 4-5 years ago and they're holding up pretty good. They're somewhat stiff and keep the truck from rolling/swaying pretty good, but also make it hop a lot when hitting potholes and stuff at high speeds. I'm happy with them though as I prefer a stiffer ride. They have a lifetime warranty too, so when they die in a few years (before my truck does hopefully), I can take'em back in for a new pair, heh.

i like the monroe sensa trac shock. they ride like **** for 2 weeks but once they levle out they ride good and well their pretty good off road to.

i just put monroe gas-matic in mine, along with poly sway bar bushings. an i like the ride, iv used gas-matics many times before in other cars an trucks.
i was going to go with the sena-tracks but while i researching i read a lot of pple hating them more then pple liking them(so it made me weary of buying them). also my local parts store told me they aint worth the extra money.also the lifetime warranty is only good if they break, any gas in them an they are still good.

i dont know who told you that but a past set i have used i had them warrentied. the shop i sent them to did it and i paid nothing for replacing them. so what ever parts store you went to that told you that was trying to upsell you......

well according to my jobber who iv been dealing with for years. monroe wont take them back if its got gas in them. now this is here in canada so it maybe different there.
an i wasnt upsold on anything as i bought the next lower monroe model under the sena tracks.

ill be doing the shocks on my explorer soon getting kind of bumpy with pot holes it has the KYB gas adjust shocks on it now they were on it when i bought it oh did you guys replace the smaller shock that hooks side ways to the axle in the rear?

I have used Bilsteins and they were great. Replaced with KYB Gas Adjust shocks. They have a ride equivalent to the Bilsteins. IMO.

Well that's too easy, if they break and there's still gas in them, just puncture it and let the gas out.. :D
