What is an Explorer Expedition?

Saw one of these yesterday while at work. It had the Sport body and said "Expedition" on the back. What options/stuff did it have and when did they start and stop making them??

It was an option package offered on 1995 Sports only, but I cannot remember what made them different.

Someone here had a red one at one time I believe. There is an old thread about the Explorer Expedition.

I have a white expedition, the only difference is the trim package that goes around the body & paint color and I think all the expeditions came with upgraded speaker system and someone said a towing package, but mine did not come with that.

i think some came with a brush guard from the factory too...

This Explorer Expedition didnt have the brush guard.........thanks guys for the info! Just curious about the model.
