My 98 Ranger xlt 4x4 auto... will move in reverse just fine, but in drive if you just let off the brake it just sits there untill you really give it some gas! I think it is the e-brake stuck or something...anyone know anything????

Thanks in advance...Mike

Hi ya' mate,
Try adjusting the brakes back till they hardly hold anything, then try it, if that's not it, I'd suspect tranny probs sorry 2 say mate.......any1 else wanna suggest their idea(s)......

The first thing to do is check the fluid in the trans, make sure it's full.

Also make sure it is not overfull. My Ex did the same thing and it was caused by the Transmission fluid getting full of bubble and the pump unable to shift and the converter to just spin. cold it worked good for a couple mile.. So I traded it for a 05 Ranger .. with manual Shift no more problems..
