HELP!!! What is going on?!

Alright, I'm kinda annoyed/scared about a noise my engine is making. When I start my car sometimes, usually when its hot out or the engine is hot from previous use, there is a sound that sounds basically like a vacuum cleaner. I have opened the hood and determined that the sound is coming from the intake.(**NOTE: I have a K&N FIPK which replaces the stock airbox witha conical air filter**) But why is my intake making this sound? It almost always occurs when the engine is hot or it is hot outside. It really does sound like a very loud vacuum cleaner (at idle), seeing as I can hear it if I'm just cruising along and not throttling up. But as I said it is usually when it is hot out and/or the engine is hot. WHAT IS GOING ON?! CAN IT BE STOPPED?! HELP!!!

hhhmmmmmm. it sounds like that may be normal... it may be that the combustion process is becoming more complete ats the air stove should at that time be properly working.... the K&N may be doing it... Put in a paer filter to test it out...... The other day I ran my truck with the MAF disconnected and NO filter..... my car was VERY loud

I just posted about this on the general board... I've got the KKM and it's doing the exact same thing.

why not?.... the ricers think that becuase they have a 2 foot tall wing and a 5" exhuast and a K&N that they can "whoop on all y'alls"

Since it happens when its hot, are you sure its not just the fan engaging? When the clutch fan is running, it makes a lot of noise.
