Yes, and there are multiple part numbers, and I can't tell which one I need for a 4wd auto. For example Delco EP314 comes up at Rockauto, listed 2WD, but other sites don't even list that for an Explorer. EP354 is listed in a few catalogs but no one carries it. I'm just very confused.

There does not appear to be any difference between 2wd/4wd.
The multiple part numbers are (1) because of different manufacturers and (2) some of the part# or for just the pump, and some are for a complete assembly, with the strainer and sending unit.

From RockAuto:

Airtex # E2144S ($106.79) is the complete assembly, which you will probably need. For the difference in price, you might as well change the whole thing.

Airtex # 2001 ( $69.79) is just the pump.
