can i please get some help here

I cant figure out what/where that is......back the camera/phone up a lil bit...

Folks here are helpful, but need more to go on. While it may appear obvious, you can see it in context. From here, it is inscrutable, and I have spent a lot of time in and under my 2002 Ex of 7 years, in addition to lots of other cars.

Perhaps a verbal description of where it is.

i'd say the front Diff. Better Picture would help.
How did it happen?

the top one looks like the steering knuckle and the bottom looks like the front diff housing. both are available at a dealership or maybe a junkyard if you can find them in there. make sure you get it aligned after repairs. did you hit something? that looks like highspeed curb damage. and it looks like the front tire is flat....if that is the tire. better pictures would help out alot.

This area? 03xlt

Don't know if this helps, but here's on old pic of what looks like that area...

I am going to take a wild guess and say that's the aluminum mount for the front axleshaft that's broke. How in the world did you snap that? A little to much throttle when off-roading? Get new parts!!!

omg, please share, how did you possibly do that? Do you have 500ft pounds of torque coming our of your engine or what??

nah i swerved to miss a dog that jumped out of the bushes and ran across the road and ended up scrapping a rock at 20 M.P.H. i had actually had to get it towed because i messed up my rim as well. First time my Explorer has ever been on the back of a wrecker :( but yes i will try and get some better pics really quick i cant right now because i am at work

im under my truck atm changing my motor..and that is deffinately the front diff housing(which at least on my truck is a one piece that includes the axle shafts)...cant believe that broke like it did...your probably gunna have to go see a dealer to get a new part...id say your looking at some serious $$$ for the parts...as well as labor to get the differential and and drive axels swaped over...and installed...good luck.

yeah i just put a front diff housing in a mounty and......thats not something i would want to spend my whole paycheck on.....holy crap. i think it would be well worth your time to search the internet or junkyards for a used one....unless your insurance is going to pay for it. but hey look at it this way.....now may be an excelent time to look for a solid axle:D.

ok well i just got new pictures
