what kind of speakers?

I have a '92 ford explorer and the front left speaker is blown. Im going to replace all my speakers, can anyone tell me what i need to buy? A component system with tweaters? 3 way speakers?? What sizes?? Thanks a lot!

Go with components....factory speaker size is 6x8

You may want to know that if you go with a component set you'll need an amp..

You don't necessarily need an amp to run components. I have mine running off the stock wiring off my AIWA HU. You can run them off the stock system, they just won't sound as good as off an aftermarket HU or amp.

Last time I tried to run them w/o an amp just using the included crossover and wiring from the HU I couldn't turn it up very loud and it sounded really bad... It would cut in and out if I tried to turn it up, not even really loud...

I was told that i needed an amp... That fixed everything...

Guess it depends on the crossovers then. Mine happen to run great off the AIWA HU.

If they work thats great... I'd like to put some in my car but with my luck I'll get some that'll need a freakin amp to run right...

ive been offered some 5.25 component speakers by hifonics for a good price, even though they are smaller then what i should get, will they still be alright?

5.25" compeonents are the perfect size. they will fit easily. go for it.
