My stock amp and sub blew about a week ago and I bought a 10" MTX Sub. I was wondering what sizes amp would be able to push this sub and still fit behind the rear panal. I would like suggestions on brands too. Also, would this amp be compatible with the other stock amp?

Thanks

If the MTX you purchased is just a standard and not a pro series I would suggest a Rockford Fosgate 100a1. It's a small amp and has a built in crossover. It doesn't kick out a ton of power but it's plenty for a single 10", it's a two channel but can be bridged for the kick you need. The price is nice too, around $150-$175 with a 3yr warranty.

Hey Green-

It would depend on the sub, and how much power, but I think the sub you might be referring to is 125 RMS, so you could go with a small mono (1 channel amp) or a bridgable two channel. Either way, you'll be shooting for the mono amp or a two channel amp bridged at anywhere between 80 to 120 watts RMS at the most. The one that ND Explorer recomends is great. Basically, any amp this small in power and size will not run you too much money. If it's a two channel, you're looking at a small amp that puts out 2x30 watts RMS, 4 ohms, at the most, easy and inexpensive to find. Good luck!

i wouldnt suggest a fosgate to anyone, they are overrated and the price usually reflects it, but the wattage is underrated and they push out a lil more than stated with a clean setup. unless you are getting it at cost, otherwise, i have a 100 watt two channel that s bridgable that i could get to you for 100 bux. if you bought htat amp and can return it, return it, wait for some 3 day weekend, and circuit city will have that same sub advertised as free with a box free if you get an MTX amp, an dthe cheapest amp is usually perfectly matched to that sub. save some $
