Hey all, on the way home tonight I wanted to pick up the right socket so I can tear into doing my ball joints.
I know I read it at one time, but searched and can not find it.

BUMP!

Anyone know?
Hit thew local parts store and the manual/system does not show what size, and the sockets are about $20/ea.
Mounty is at home 20 miles from here and is not driveable!

****!!! I just did my ball joints last night and cant for the life of me remember what size it was...I wanna say 1 1/4" I think??

My Explorer is not AWD but I believe I have the same hubs, as mine are permanent. I bought a 32mm, long shanked socket to remove the spindle nut. Did you know you're supposed to replace the nuts once you take them off? You will need to tighten to about 200 foot pounds, so make sure you have a torque wrench big enough.
