Time for an oil change, but I'm not sure what size my 06 v8 filter is. I went to Walmart to get a filter and oil but their lookup only goes through 04. Anyone know what fits?

fram.com has a great application program on their main page.

Not that I'd use Fram, but it might help you.

Just changed mine - 6 qts & a K&N Gold filter -- ordered the filter online and it was here in 2 days - Good Luck

The '06 V8 uses Motorcraft FL 820S, sold at Walmart for about $3.

Thanks a lot!!

Walmart didn't have the Motorcraft, but had a Fram PH2 which I figured to fit too.

Thanks again.

btw: V6 and V8 engine-oilfilter is the same ( FL-820S ). Airfilter for V6 is FA-1695 and for V8 is FA-1780.

Any tips on getting the filter off? That thing is on tight in a tight place. My filter wrench wont fit in the space and man is it on tight.

I'm having the same problem. Is there some type of wrench the fits over the motorcraft filter. The dealer installed the last one and I can't get it off now.

Your two easiest removal options are:

1. Buy this, and use an extension. http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_detail.cfm?detail=1214

2. Use this:

to pound this:

through the side of the filter and turn.
