What size tire w/ 17x8 rims?

I put on some 17x8 rims, using my stock tires, but they don't seem to fill the wheel well as much as I would like. Does anyone know what size will fit and look taller w/o rubbing?

I think you can fit a farely large tire on a 02. You might be able to get a 255/70? Keep in mind that the larger you go, your speedo will be slow, you gearing will be higher -- thus it will feel like you have less power....What's your stock size? Did you have 245/65?

Yes, I have the 245/65/17 size. How much less power, will it be noticeable? I do have a V8.
