What Stock rims do you guys like the best?

I'm a little confused (believe me it doesn't take much). Explorer didn't come with 17" stock rims do they? 17" from Ford? Which truck did it come standard in?

15" was standard and 16" was optional. At least it was in 1999

I have the 16" teardrops on my sport and ny friend has the 15" teardrops on his XLT. I don't know if there was ever a 17" offered.

I believe the Limited's came with the 17's, maybe as an option...but I too could be wrong. Anyhow, they fit and look great.

The new Exploders come with 17's..

As far as what stock style rims I like for some reason I tend to like the ones that were on the B2 I got rid of.. I tried to get my brother in law to keep them on his 99 Ranger but he wanted his 15X7 wheels back, even thought the truck looked better with those wheels..

When I got mine form the stealership, they had Ion Style 138 put on mine.

Honestly i love the way my tire looks ive got the 16" Tear Drops but i hate not being able to find bigger tires than what came stock on it, like i guess i can go 285 or possibly 305's but not being able to find 31's - 33's is just annoying. but i dont wanna give up hope...

well a 285/70 or a 305/70 will be the exact same thing as a 31 or 33" tire.. you can even get a 305/75 to make it a little taller than a 33"

Your not going to see 33" markings anymore unless its a 15" wheel.. When you get to 35's you will start to see them in the 17 and larger sizes..

So if you want to keep a 16" wheel you are just going to have to go with a metric equivelant of a 31 or 33...

Well thank ya, that helped out a whole lot, im off to buy me some new tires now lol, my slicks are getting kind of dangerous w/ winter around the corner.

Will all Ranger rims fit an Explorer? Correct Back Spacing, Bolt Pattern...ect.. everything?
Even the FX4 rims?..

yes...rangers and explorer are 100% interchangeable

I just test fitted the 16" tear drop from a 2001 Ranger on my 2005 Ex. The offset is such that it brings out the tires to the outer edge of the wheel wells. The tires on the 2001 wheels are garbage. Going Monday (hopefully) to have my goodyears mounted to the Ranger wheels.
