What Subs and Amp(s) to get

I want 2 12's, And i want it to have a lot of bass but still not sound like crap. My budget is Around $1200 for both subs,amp,deck,box,wireing,and car alarm.

so you really want to focus on bass? what kind of music

you could really make a ton of noise for that amount of money

have i attacked you before? i dont remember attacking you, if i did, well lemme see so i can see if i was justified. btw i think your install is great. anywho my recommendation depends on your needs and uses.

We installed 2 autotek SS's and a 450watt SS amp and we hit 140.0dB on the LinearX mic today (were waiting for the parts for the termlab). and he only spent like $600 on that setup. so you could up it to the MX series and hit 145+ (depending on the install). it seems to be a nice SPL setup.

A nice deck would be, the new rockford's, or the new JVC its pretty nice, not top of the line $1000 head unit. but who wants(well needs ) that anyway. its got nice graphics front and rear (no sub :/ ) out puts.. which may be fine for your setup. another nice deck is the Pioneer OEL (i think its OEL) screen. nice graphics. deck is more personal taste if you just want bump bump. some of these people that compete, have to check the desk with multimeters and oscilloscope and everything. but thats not for most people (not even me)

if you look at power acoustik amps, they run hot for some reason, so beware on that. but you probably wouldnt look at them, their not known too much, and alot of people think they suck. which most kinda do

anyway, thats my thoughts for right now, when you post what your plans on doing are (daily driver spl or sq, etc etc) ill post again

Heres what i would look into. depending on budget, i know you said 1200 but you might not want to spend that much on your first system.


if you want to go with namebrand stuff look into

JL 12w3s 150 each
PG Ti12s (excellent for the price) 69 each


Some other less known types:

Resonant Engineering (RE) x.. 379 each
RE SX 229 each

You could also go with one really nice 15 or a "super sub" 12

Id say the x.., Brahma, or a JL 12w7 (400-500 not sure) if you want awesome SQ that gets real loud
