I know this is asked all the time, but I have to know. I have about $350-$400 price range for the subs themselves. The amp is already taken care of. I am leaning towards the Kicker S12L7. I would like a pair of subs but wouldn't object if you suggested 1 or 3 or whatever. I would like SPL but want them to sound decent, SPL is the main thing though. Perhaps some CompVR's would be good for the money? Anything will be considered. Thanks!

TWO WORDS: Rockford Fosgate;)

i say go strong // get a set of jlx0's and run them in a sealed box // i got 3 jl's in my truck, and powered with a little 300 watt planet audio amp, i can grank to levels up around 145 dbs
hits hard enough i ripped the mirtror off my windshield and it took a piece of the glass to boot., pounded the dash loose, and also pounded the light out of the roof.

i also need to tighton the rear wiper as its almost ready to fall off also

ok here is the best bang for the best of spl and sq...

adire audio's shiva , $125 each.

you can compare these with jl audio's w3 line or kickers comp vr but with alot more sound quality.
btw these are the most efficient speakers i have ever seen.

ask around on soundillusions.net if your a real audiophile.

Yeah, I know about Adire Audio and their quality and was also considering maybe 1 12in Brahma? I think that would be pretty good, they're really cheap for the quality of the thing.

I recomend audiobahn... they hit real hard in a tight closedbox... if you buy them from a dealer than they come with a warenty of no matter waht you to to it as long as u bring it to them they will ship it out n replace it for free.... thye go for around 275 each sub....
I am running Infinety 6x8 door speakers 1000Watt Memphis amp and 2 12 inch audiobahn subs.. its a real nice combo... the Infinetys handle the mids and highs real well while the audiobahns just pound...

which audiobahn subs are you referring to?

budget system, audiobahn all the way best bang for the buck hands down

cant go wrong with rockford fosgate. check out www.ikesound.com for low prices on most brands. adire shivas are also a good choice for spl and sq. or check out alpine type r's

yes you also cant go wrong with the type-r's, and the edk or eda all are very good speakers.

EliteConcept i totally disagree with your post. i think audiobahn is ****ty, not only do they sound like **** and need alot of power but they break easily.

you must have had some wanna be audiobahns then, all mine have worked great.
also he can get the amps to power the subs for cheap as well...

bias

these people are all goin to tell you to get what they got cuz they all think theirs is louder than the other man...well i can tell ya i am...if budget wasnt a problem id tell you run a setup comparable to mine 3 jl audio w7 13 " in sealed box..i have no more glass in the rear of my car all replaced with plexi...

I know much is biased, but I know I don't want any audiobahn. My friend has a 15 Flame Q and I thought it sounded like sh*t. He had about 8-900 watts running to it and it sucked. Type R's are cheap enough and it seems like they are capable of handling more power than they are rated at. I've been looking at elemental designs, they seem pretty good, but how is the O series. It's right in my budget, but how do they compare with the A's. The K's are cheap but are they that much worse than the A's or O's?

Ks - Have both SQ and SPL (SQL)
Os - Are more geared more twards SQ
As - Have the advantage in SPL

Take a visit on over to CAF, they know alot about these "unknown brands" Dead Link Removed

Ok I believe I have decided between 3 different subs. I want more SPL than SQ, but don't want it to sound like crap. Anyway, I think I want either 2 12" Adire Audio Shivas, or 2 12" elemental designs K seres, or 1 elemental designs 12" A series. Are the K's have much less SPL than the A's for the money. I know all these subs are great, but for the money which is the best deal?

Now, the Shivas will have a greater advantage in SQ over the Ks. But thats not saying the Ks dont have good SQ, they do. Between these 2 I would have to go with the Ks. Now the 12A is another great driver, but I would go with the 15"er :D but thats just me. Out of these 3 its a tough choice. Do some more research to find out which is best for you. Thats what I did, took some time, but im happy. Also visit that fourm if you havent already...

Ok, but even though the O series is geared more towards SQ, wouldn't it still be a little louder than the K? I am just used to the saying in car audio "you get what you pay for" I'm not used to having a sub $200 subwoofer being better than another that costs almost twice as much.
